Postmedia Goes Back to School

Greenrock IMPACT is the philanthropic arm of Greenrock Real Estate Advisors, with a mission to build stronger, healthier and environmentally sustainable communities across the City of Toronto, which is exemplified through support for local charities, and empowering our tenants and employees to truly make a difference in the world, through local impactful initiatives.

“In the Bag” Back to School Drive

This August, Greenrock IMPACT in association with Greenrock Commercial Services at Postmedia Place participated in the “In the Bag” Back to School Drive to support the Start2Finish Backpack Program. Tenants and staff alike participated by donating vital school supplies, filling over 101 backpacks for students in need.

Not only were supplies donated, Greenrock IMPACT and Postmedia Place donated a combined $1,000 towards furthering the work Start2Finish is able to do in the community.

Tenants of Postmedia also had an IMPACT with allocating a portion of the donation to Rose Avenue Public School, where a recent fire at a local residential high rise has prevented tenants from returning home and left children without school supplies.

Greenrock is a proud supporter of the Start2Finish Backpack Program and all that Start2Finish aims to achieve in breaking the cycle of child poverty through educational support to Canada’s at-risk children throughout their life, empowering them to succeed and become role models for change.

“The Start2Finish Backpack Program provides vital school supplies to thousands of kids who begin the school year without the proper essentials.  Each September, Start2Finish, in cooperation with school boards and local administrators, identifies children with the greatest needs in low-income communities across the nation.  The program equips students with the tools needed to help “even the playing field” and prepare them for a successful school year and beyond.  The S2F Backpack Program distributes backpacks to the most at-risk children in schools nationwide.” – Start2Finish
